U.S. Mortgage Interest Rates Rise
For the first time in about a month, average rates on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage loans increased, MarketWatch reported January 31, 2008.
The 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage rose to 5.68 percent, up from the previous week's 5.48 percent. The mortgage averaged 6.34 percent a year
ago. The 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.17 percent, up from 4.95 percent. The
15-year mortgage loan averaged 6.06 percent a year ago.
