This is why 2011 will be the year of the Short Sale. Massachusetts Short Sales at discounted firesale prices will finally be doable as Banks look to move property while it still has clean title. The Massachusetts Supreme Court Rulling have made foreclosing and then selling very risky. Opportunity seeking investors should find a good source of Lis Pendens and Sherrif Sale listing and learn how to make Short Sale buying their business.

Massachusetts consumers don't need to pay for lists of short sale properties. What consumers should do is find an experienced exclusive buyer agent that will explain how to locate short sales on the MLS and walk them through what can be a complicated and frustrating process.

Consumers should be aware of real estate "professionals" who claim short sales can be negotiated quickly and at rock bottom prices. That's a red flag that you are dealing with either someone who is not very experienced or less than truthful.

In Massachusetts, more than 90 percent of short sales take between three and six months to close.

Utah foreclosure

There are properties that sound inexpensively priced but they will not sell high as well despite the repairs because of their location or neighborhood.
